Hello! This is my post about my two weeks at Camp Cody. The camp is gigantic and has so many things to do! I just loved it so much and can't wait for next summer!

My parents drove me to NH where Camp Cody is located and it is in a very beautiful area, right on a lake. When we finally

arrived, I got out of the car and gathered all my stuff and headed to check-in. When I said my name to the check-in person she got all excited and started yelling "Rourke is here!" I was a little confused on the sudden excitement that I had arrived....but then someone came running over and guess what???? We have the same name! It is the same spelling and it is his first name! Rourke is from England and we were both so excited because neither of us have met or seen another Rourke before (Photo - English Rourke and American Rourke)

After I met Rourke, I said my final goodbye to my mom and dad and then they left. My friend Sam, from school was actually at camp too, it was nice to know at least one person. While we waited for the others in our cabin to arrive we explored camp, it was big! There was a dock with 4 boats, 2 tennis courts, a soccer field, and much more! More kids arrived and went to

my cabin or other cabins. My cabin was called Cherokee, there were 10 kids in the cabin (including me). I picked the top bunk, because I like the feeling of being on the top. (Mine is the one with the black circle in the picture)

Sandy Beach

After I picked my bunk it was time to go to lunch. We had to go as a cabin so the whole cabin got together with our cabin counselor and went to the bleachers, which is were you wait before going into dining hall. The owner of the camp gave a little speech and welcomed us all before we finally headed in for lunch. Over lunch I got to learn more about my cabin-mates, we were a pretty international cabin. Two of the boys were from Colombia, one of the cabin counselors is from England, and the other is from Scotland. After lunch we went back into our cabin to get all of our stuff unpacked and to socialize, then some very handsome man (me) said, "How about we play Mafia!" If you don't know what the game 'Mafia' Is, click on this website: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HExlcWsuB98 so we played and we got to learn everyone's names and a little bit about them.

Later on we got our schedule, heard a bit more about the camp and the rules. The first night after dinner we went to the beach to sit around a big fire and make s' mores! Finally the day was over and we went to our cabins to shower, brush our teeth, change into pajamas, and then sleep. It was a great first day!

I woke up with music playing in the background, it was 7:15, I looked around still waking up and saw that some kids were already awake, some just waking up like me, and others still dead to the world. I got out of the bunk, made it and then brushed m teeth changed and got ready to start the day. We headed to breakfast, they have a fruit bar and a cereal one plus hot meal. After breakfast we had our 1st activity, we had it for about 1 hour, then our 2nd, and 3rd. After our 3rd activity, we had lunch, and then 3 more activities after that. Then dinner, cabin time, evening activity, cabin time and finally lights out. It was going to be a very active two weeks! My first activity was tubing and it was a lot of fun! Next I did something called 'The Wibit', the Wibit is an inflatable obstacle course, but on the water. That was fun because when you fell off you splashed into the water.

Two days later, it started to rain, it wasn't that bad so we still did our activities, the only problem was for me, I had five water activities, out of six activities, so the water was really cold because of the raining. Later it poured, it was raining soooooo much, it was crazy. We had to stay inside our cabins for our 1st 3 activities, which was three hours. Three hours isn't too long with friends, so we just hung out inside the cabin playing Mafia, Card Games, or Reading. but after lunch, the rain stopped and we did our normal activities.

Every day is different and you can change what you want to do and try whenever you want. It never got boring, there was so much to do....

One of our evening activities is The Social. The Social is a dance but with a theme. The first social was Under The Sea, so you had to dress up in something related to the sea, like a swimsuit, or a costume like a fish. I dressed up in a swimsuit. The dance was really fun, at first, it was kind of awkward but then it got really fun. There were two social's, the first was Under The Sea, and the next was Future Careers, I want to be an Anesthesiologist when I grow up so I dressed up like a doctor. After the social EVERYONE was tired, so when we got to our cabin some didn't even change or brush their teeth, they just went to bed.

That night I slept well. The next few days were normal, wake up, eat activities, eat, activities, eat, activity, sleep. We then had a field trip day were we went to Water Country.

Water Country is a water park (surprising). I've been to water country once and it wasn't favorite. When we came it was OK. There were many slides I went on which were fun, but the lines were awful. It took us thirty minutes to go on a 30-second ride, crazy right? So we spent the whole day at water country which was, about 8 hours, and guess what, I went on 4 rides... 4 RIDES. Only 4 rides in 8 hours! It was a fun trip but when we got back one of my cabin mates almost threw up from eating too much fried-dough!

Over the next few days I received letters from my parents. What's cool about the letter system at camp is your parents can email Camp Cody a letter and they will print the letter out and give it to you. You then can write on paper a letter that gets scanned and emailed to your parents, so your parents will get the letter on the day that you write it.

For the next few days, we were having a lot of fun, one of my activities was cooking and we got to make pizza. Also, there was music, tennis, swimming, sailing, tubing, canoeing, soccer, etc. I did tubing, the boats go super fast and the tube holds two people, so my friend and I went on the tube together. We ran into a problem when we hit a huge bump and I started to

slip off, then my friend got pulled in the direction I was going and he rolled on top of me pushing me under the tube and having me fall off... I had a headache for the rest of the day!. My other favorite activity was The Wibit. The only problem was you couldn't push people off, so my master plan of ruling The Wibit won't work....ha ha!

We then had another field trip, this time to a place called, Monkey Trunks. Monkey Trunks is a big ropes course. The course gets really high, but it was so much fun! There are 4 levels, practice, green, blue, and black.

I went on Black and there was one part that had tire swing and was very wobbly. My friends told me, "once you get on the first tire, jump!" I wasn't so sure because it was a long jump and they're all taller than me. So I ran. I ran right through and almost hit crashed into a tree! That was close, I thought but the rest of the black course went by like a breeze. Monkey Trunks were really fun, if you like an adrenaline rush, this would be for you!

The two weeks went by in a flash and the last day of activities arrived and we were all starting to get sad to say good-bye. We had our Good-Bye Social (Future Careers) but after an hour, I got pulled outside by my cabin counselor, who said that the whole cabin was going to go on a boat ride to look at the stars. We all piled onto the boat and went to the middle of the lake. We looked up at the stars and talked about our time at camp, we talked about how we were all friends, and how most of us will come back to Camp Cody again. It was such a beautiful night, so many stars! I can't describe it to well, but I'll try, the sky lit up with dots of glowing light that covered the whole sky and occasional we would see a shooting stars. We talked about how we are so small compared to the vast deep space, that made us all laugh!

After star gazing we headed to the beach. We sat around the fire and the owner of the Camp came and talked about our stay and said his goodbyes.

Leaving day! We woke up, packed all of our stuff, went to breakfast and then waited for our parents to arrive. When I saw my parents, I ran to them and hugged them the biggest hug I've ever done in my life. I showed my parents around the camp and told them about many of the things we did over the two weeks and then I had to say goodbye to our counselors and finally head back home.

Camp Cody was one of the best camps I've ever gone too! I would rate the camp, a 9.5 out of 10 I loved it. I would recommend this camp to anyone, I love it, and can't wait to return next year!

Thank you so much for reading this, and I hope that you like my blog post, thank you so much.
